Essential Eligibility Criteria

At Fishing the Good Fight, we’re committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants. To ensure the best experience for everyone, we ask that participants meet the following essential criteria:

  1. Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to participate in our retreats.
  2. Readiness to Engage: Our retreats are designed to support men on their mental health journeys. Participants should be open to engaging in group discussions, activities, and reflection. If you’re currently in a crisis or experiencing acute mental health challenges, please reach out to us so we can help connect you to appropriate resources before applying.
  3. Basic Mobility and Physical Activity: Our retreats involve moderate physical activity, including walking on uneven terrain and participating in fly-fishing. While we strive to accommodate varying abilities, participants should be able to move independently or with minimal assistance for short distances.
  4. Outdoor Comfort: Participants should be comfortable spending extended time outdoors in various weather conditions. Don’t worry—you don’t need to be a seasoned outdoorsman! But a willingness to embrace nature is essential.
  5. Respect for Other Participants: A key part of our retreats is building a sense of community. We ask all participants to respect one another, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to creating a supportive, non-judgmental space.
  6. Commitment to the Full Experience: Our retreats are a journey that unfolds over a few days. We ask that all participants commit to attending the retreat in full, from start to finish, to get the most out of the experience.

If you meet these criteria and are ready for an experience that blends adventure, connection, and healing, we’d love to welcome you to one of our retreats! If you have any questions about eligibility or need accommodations, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
